The first (work) day of my vacation ;-) This is what I had been preparing for. Unfortunately there's a heatwave going on and the end was still not in sight, ah well...
First I had a good look on what to do first. At that moment I had a new heating unit hanging on the attic but nothing more. The bathroom was allready take apart at least half. I started with closing the (central heating) circuit.

I mounted a new radiator in the bathroom to make the circle round again. This one couldn't hang in the same spot as the old one and asked for some creative solutions but it didn't take very long to get the job done. After that I quickly rushed to the DIY store for pipes and connectors etc. Unbelievable the prices they dare to ask! For this handfull costed me about 100 euro's!

At home the biggest challenge turned out to be not the technical aspect but the temperature! At the attic it was 45 degrees Celcius and I felt sweat running from pores I didn't even know they existed. After enough drink breaks I finally managed to close everything up.

After closing everything up I first had to finish the bathroom. Summer is almost over and it's getting colder again so I had to get it all finished.
I allready brought the water pipes onto the attic during the reconstruction of the bathroom so it wasn't very difficult to connect everything to the heating unit. Also a waiste pipe for condens water was quickly put in place. The gas pipe was connected with a gas-tap to the unit. Up till then everything went fine but then things started going wrong.

First I seriously burned my arm at the gas-pipe (I just had soldered it) After that I tried to fill the system with water but it kept leaking at one connection no matter what I tried.
The guy who came for inspection of my work noticed immediately that I had used a part with the wrong screw-thread. Fortunately he approved the system and signed the guarantee papers. And that turned out to be a very good thing !

After the unit was in use for just 15 minutes the electronica inside caught fire. Offcourse it was after office hours and we also had no more warm water that day. But, the next day the electric unit was replaced by the manufacturer and now everything is comfy again, case closed :-)

Finally working, just before the electronics caught fire!
