The last straw (Click the picture for the starting point)
After tiling there where still a number of things left to do but I didn't stop anymore for taking pictures. I was just to close !
Because I allready mounted the radiator and sink at their new location and left the bolts in the wall during tiling, I only had to bolt them again. I did the faucet on the sink first because it's easier when you still have the space. Also the hanging toilet wasn't much more work: just two bolts and a new toilet seat. The control panel required a little bit more attention because the size had to be adjusted to the situation.
A new lamp on the ceiling and 2 halogen spotlights above the sink where also fairly easy mounted. Because the transformator for the spots had to be build behind the mirror I made 4 "legs" at the back of the mirror so it will keep an even distance from the wall. It's a nice effect this floating look. After this I hung up the planchet and, like toilet and sink, sealed it all to the wall with silicon kit.
Last thing to do was the glass wall/door. Here something did go wrong ! While drilling holes in the bottom tile it suddenly broke in many pieces. Luckily this tile will be almost hidden by the hinges so I just glued everything like a puzzle together. You have to know it happened to notice it :-)
And this is what it finally became :-)
Looking back
Looking back this job succeeded better then I first hoped and I blame it to the many hours of preparation :-) I am not a proffessional so I had to learn a lot along the way but I couldn't afford to make mistakes. So before I started doing anything I made sure I knew what and how to do it. It also helped a lot that I calculated the costs pretty accurately and knew almost exactly which materials where needed. All this time for the preparation did look a bit silly at first but afterwards I was glad I did it like that. I had no nasty surprises and everything went well the first time. What more can you ask for ? For information on projects like this you can find a lot in the bigger DIY stores and I asked them a lot! (funny thing is that bypassers often gave valuable information as well when I was talking with staff). I also had a lot of fun reading an old DIY course book. Just start and don't give up !
